Employers can create an advert in Indeed's employer flow or select Indeed while publishing a vacancy in Join. The direct route uses Indeed's dashboard and budget controls. The Join route sends the same approved advert alongside other channels, then returns applications to the vacancy's shared hiring pipeline.

How to publish directly on Indeed

Indeed may already have imported the vacancy from a careers site or ATS, so check the employer dashboard before creating a duplicate. For a new direct post, prepare the role details, pay, benefits, description, screening criteria and application route before opening Indeed's guided form.

  1. Sign in to the employer dashboard, open Jobs → All Jobs and confirm that the vacancy has not already been imported from your careers site or another ATS.
  2. If no listing exists, select Post a Job and enter a clear job title, the hiring company, workplace location and whether the role is on-site, hybrid or remote.
  3. Add the employment type, pay range, schedule and benefits. Use real terms for the role rather than promotional wording that could weaken relevance or trigger review.
  4. Paste or write the full description with responsibilities, required qualifications and practical employment details, then preview how the advert will read to candidates.
  5. Add screening questions and choose how applications should be received and managed. Check that every required answer reflects a genuine hiring condition.
  6. Review the complete advert, choose an eligible free post or configure sponsorship, confirm any budget details and submit the job for Indeed's review.

How to publish on Indeed through Join

Create the vacancy once in Join and publish it to Indeed alongside your other selected channels. The advert, status changes and incoming applications stay attached to the same hiring pipeline.

  1. Write the vacancy once in Join.
  2. Publish the vacancy. Because Indeed supports organic distribution, Join sends it there organically by default as part of your Join subscription.
  3. Indeed receives the ad and publishes it on its own schedule.
  4. Applications land in your Join pipeline alongside those from every other channel.

Questions

Can an employer post a job on Indeed for free?
Indeed may offer an eligible free direct listing, subject to its current country, quality and usage limits. When Indeed organic distribution is available through Join, it is included in the Join subscription and selected by default.
Can an Indeed advert be sponsored after it is published?
Yes. Indeed allows eligible organic adverts to be sponsored later, so employers do not have to settle the paid decision before seeing any response.
How long does Indeed take to review a job post?
Indeed says most direct posts are reviewed within 24–48 hours, although complex policy or account checks can take longer. A Join-distributed advert is sent after the vacancy is published and remains subject to Indeed's review.
Why is an Indeed job post not visible yet?
The advert may still be in review, may duplicate an imported vacancy or may need changes to meet Indeed's quality rules. Check the publishing status in the system used to send it before creating another copy.
Can an Indeed job post be edited, paused or closed later?
Yes. Manage a directly created advert in Indeed. For an advert distributed from Join, make the change in Join so the vacancy and its selected channels keep the same status.
Where do Indeed applications go when publishing through Join?
They return to the vacancy in Join, where the hiring team can review them in the same pipeline as applications from the other selected channels.
